Now there’s a place to learn Underwater Filmmaking, videography, editing and post production the right way. Frazier Nivens and Stuart Cove this July will offer the Underwater Cinematography Immersion Professional Training at Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas operation in Nassau, Bahamas. Stuart Cove’s operation has been the host for hundreds of TV and feature film productions and it’s Nassau, Bahamas location has become known as the World’s Best Underwater Film location in the world. Frazier Nivens is a PADI Course Director and world renowned multiple Emmy™ and Telly ™ Award Winning underwater filmmaker. Frazier takes you beyond just the normal underwater video courses and will help you to achieve motion imaging underwater that will be colorful, creative underwater imaging fully edited into a work of art. Open to all skill levels, Go Pro, DSLR, HD video and RED Digital Cinema cameras. You should be totally comfortable underwater while scuba diving, have great buoyancy control for participating in this program to get good results.

The Underwater Cinematography Immersion Motion imaging training is what you really need to know how to film and edit your underwater footage and includes your classroom instruction, shark and wreck dives daily with Frazier and hands on instruction in the beautiful Bahamas. There is no better motion imaging course available anywhere. Learn the tips and techniques from a professional that shoots underwater movies every day. Frazier produces television programming for Discovery Channel, Shark Week, Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, ABC, CBS, NBC, Food Network, BBC, Granada TV and many more.

Frazier will take you beyond the basics and teach you what you really need to know to get great images with your existing camera system, or help you purchase and choose a great system to fit your needs prior to the program. In conjunction with Stuart Coves, Dive Bahamas operation in Nassau, Bahamas we will dive in depth into your own camera system, whether it be Go Pro, DSLR, Video or RED Digital Cinema Ultra High Definition, we will teach you what you need to know to get the most out of your system. The Professional Underwater Cinematography Immersion program consists of:

July 13th, Arrival and Evening orientation, Orange Hill Beach Inn. 7 pm. Pickup each morning from Orange Hill, transport to Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas.

July 14th. Day 1, Introduction to UW Filmmaking, your camera system, Underwater Housings, Composition, Setup and Maintenance, Camera handling, operation and shot examples, Focusing, Exposure, White Balance, Color Correction filters, Shutter Speeds. Telling your underwater story through planning, storyboards and sequences. Music and Sound Effects use. Shooting 1080 HD, DSLR underwater and Ultra High Definition in 4k and higher resolutions using your camera system. Lunch, Afternoon two tank shark swim and wreck dive at Will-Laurie shipwreck. Review and suggestions for improvement UW.

July 15th, Day 2, AM Shark Swim and Ray of Hope Shipwreck Shark Dive and filming for best results, afternoon review and Introduction to Adobe Creative Cloud Production Premium and editing software Premiere Pro. The tools you will need to put your movie together. Working with Ultra HD imaging in Premiere Pro and RED CineX Pro, Color Grading in Adobe Speed Grade. Editing and exporting your RED R3D files. Underwater Lighting, Creating 3D Motion Titling, Effective Titles that move and shake, Exporting to Adobe Media Encoder for the web and for Blu Ray creation in the Classroom. Creating IPAD and Mobile Phone movies. Review and suggestions for improvement UW.

July 16th, Day 3, Dive till you drop, all day diving filming. Shark Dive and Wreck diving at Thunderball, James Bond’s 007 shipwreck sites. Lunch on board the boat. Review and suggestions for improvement.

July 17th, Day 4, Two tank Dive in AM, Shark Arena, and Wreck dives. Lunch at Stuart Coves, editing, exporting for Blu Ray, Adobe Encore DVD training, exporting and creating your DVD. Color Correction, Curves, Plug Ins and making your footage pop with brilliance.

July 18th, Day 5, Classroom all day, After Effects motion graphics. Today we will finish up creating and burning your footage from the week into a short film, set to music and titles. You will also edit your own dive video and output it to DVD or Blu Ray during this course. The final evening will be the week UW film festival and your movie will be shown, the winner from the evening will be shown at the Bahamas International Film Festival.

July 19th, Departure from Orange Hill Beach Inn to airport and travel home. Call now and learn Underwater Filmmaking, editing and post production the right way.
